Australia’s first computer, CSIRAC, is commemorating its 75th anniversary this month. Before its relocation to Melbourne, CSIRAC was initially housed at Sydney University, where it laid the foundation for Australia’s computing capabilities. The project’s leaders, including Pearcey and Maston Beard, spearheaded the country’s foray into cutting-edge technology, supporting research in various fields like weather forecasting and engineering.
