The DataGuard rf Tape Tracking System is the world's first system to monitor, track and trace the inventory location of in-transit data centre tape cartridges using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. This complete turn-key solution tracks the movement of cartridges in and out of a data centre, off-site facility or disaster recovery location. The user scans RFID-enabled cartridges, either individually or up to 20 cartridges within a transport case, as they arrive and depart a location. The system automatically logs each cartridge transaction in a database that is linked to the customer's tape management system. This solution is 100% accurate and efficiently accounts for the location of all data cartridges while providing extensive reporting and auditing capabilities.
