This sleek, portable hand-held reader replicates all major functions of the DataGuard rf Scan Station, such as audits, library inventories and missing cartridge notification. The device is also programmable to locate misfiled or out-of-sequence cartridges via your tape management system.
The Mobile Scanner comes equipped with Windows Mobile operating system and is used for scanning DataGuard rf Volser Labels with RFID-tagged cartridges and cases. It also transfers data files to and from the host computer. In the inventory mode, the Mobile Scanner uses the application software to create files and transfer them to the host computer for eventual uploading into the tape management system.
The hand-held device syncs with a transportable docking station to upload the read tapes. In the locate mode, the host computer use the application software to create files containing watch lists and transfers these files to the Mobile Scanner for use by its software application.
